Hoovering (vt): the act of hover-ing around, esp. in anticipation of mooching off of others. Whilst hover-ing the person proceeds to take well beyond their presumed share of provision, taking a large amount (like a vacuum)... thus hoovering.

e.g.: "Son never puts in for *&%$ but he's always hoovering, when we cop something..."
